Georgia Sim wins a close race for player of the week

Posted Sunday, April 07, 2013 by Justin Crothers

Georiga Sim has been named this week's McGuffey Track and Field Player of the week. Georgia has an awesome week. She started out on Tuesday with a 2nd place finish in the 100 and Long Jump and a 3rd in the 200 versus Albert Gallatin. Then on Thursday, she had one of the best days an athlete can dream of versus Trinity and Thomas Jefferson. Georgia had 4 1st place performances versus Trinity in the 100, 200, Long Jump and the anchor leg in the 4x100 relay. She almost equaled that against Thomas Jefferson with a 1st in the 100, 200 and anchor leg in the 4x100 relay and a 2nd in the 200. In one week, Georgia earned 37.5 meet points; some teams don't score that in a week! What a great week for Georgia, keep up the outstanding work, and the sky is the limit in your Track and Field Career.
I have to make note of a few athletes Georgia beat out for this honor. Nico Bruno and Wes Duda also had great weeks, scoring 31.5 points and 29 points respectively. Most weeks those totals would win this award but not this week. Good Job Nico and Wes and keep working hard!
